John Kirwan Wellington event for Stand By Me: Helping your teen through tough times. The father of three teenagers, and an advocate for depression awareness, Sir John Kirwan will be in Wellington for an author event this October.
Learning to navigate feelings of teenage anxiety and depression is the subject of his new book, "Stand By Me: Helping your teen through tough times".
"The goal of this book is to help give people the knowledge and courage to be active and supportive,” says JK. “I’m a dad and I’m looking to share answers from the professionals, and the kids, their mums, dads, and their other supporters who’ve all been there.” If you've got a question around anxiety or depression that you'd like JK to help you find an answer to, email it today to: standbyme@penguin.co.nz with ‘Wellington’ in the subject line.
Honest, enlightening and impossible to ignore, JK's new book is a powerful tool for parents, teachers and other care givers who're helping teens tackle mental health issues. His books will be available for sale on the night courtesy of Whitcoulls and JK will be available for an author signing after the event.
