Churton Park Community Centre - What's On to November 9, 2014

Happy Halloween today! You might get the chance to meet some of your neighbours this evening as they trick or treat, so have fun with your families! REGULAR CLASS SPOTLIGHT – Zumba Gold
Join Joy and the gang for a fun hour of Zumba Gold every Friday afternoon from 1-2pm. Just $5 to take part in a fun dance-based workout, especially designed to be low impact but energetic!

·         ** 360 Degree Fitness Change of Time ** - Tuesday’s 10am Men’s Group Fitness class is moving to 11am. Get in for a pre-lunchtime workout. Contact David (david@360degreefitness.co.nz) to register 
·         ** Preschool Music Classes ** – Tuesdays 10:00 a.m. – 10:45am, starting Tuesday 4 November. Music, song, and dance for pre-schoolers. Let your little one explore melody, rhythm, and movement in interactive, fun sessions! For children under 5, including infants. First class free if signed up before 31 October. ·         ** Free Arthritis Seminars ** - designed to help you live positively with arthritis. We hosted these sessions a few months ago and people were buzzing about how useful they were! Wednesday 5th November from 10am.
·         ** Funclay Christmas Decoration Class ** - Drop the kids off and get some Christmas shopping done while they learn how to make cute Christmas decorations out of Funclay. Great on the tree or for gifts. Funclay will also be available to purchase. Friday 7th November from 3.30 - 5pm, $15 per child.

COMING SOON – MARK YOUR CALENDARS
·         ** Christmas Craft Classes ** - Rachael has a number of classes coming up to teach you techniques for creating beautiful Christmas cards and boxes. See the attached flyers and book through the Centre:
o   Christmas Card Making - Tuesday 11th November 9.30 – 11.30am and Friday 12thDecember 7 – 9pm . Learn the skills to make four exquisite Christmas cards then take home your work! Just $20 for four cards. Places are strictly limited.
o   One Sheet Wonder Class – Tuesday 2nd December 9.30 – 11.30. Learn to make five gorgeous items using the One Sheet Technique. $25. Limited places.
o   Kids Christmas Craft Class – Tuesday 11th December 3.30 – 5pm. Great Christmas crafts for kids aged 5+. Adults can register for this class also. $20.
·         ** Churton Park Craft Market Kids Market ** - This is exciting! This year's Churton Park Craft Market will include a market by and for kids! Kids, start saving your pocket money and join us on Friday 14th November from 5 – 8pm for fun, food, entertainment and shopping!
·         ** Pashminas Unlimited Sale ** - For the first time at CPCC, fine quality Kashmiri pashminas in silk, wool and cotton. These would make gorgeous Christmas gifts (or something special for yourself) on sale at CPCC on Friday 21st November between 12 – 2pm. See attached for more information on product and prices.
·         ** Churton Park Photography Club End of Year Exhibition ** - Tuesday 25th November, from 7pm at Simmer CafĂ©. This will be an opportunity to see and appreciate the talent and the achievements of this group in the past year. Examples of the students' work will be framed and available for sale. For those of you curious about joining the Club, this could also be a great opportunity to get along and meet some of the members.

·         Mark your calendar for this year’s Sky Show on Saturday 8th November. Click here for more details.
·         ATM at New World Churton Park: an ASB ATM is due to be installed at New World next week. This will be accessible 24/7 either from inside during opening hours and from outside the store opposite the trolley bay.
·         Are you new to Wellington? Join in the celebrations at the Newcomers Network First Birthday Party on Tuesday 4th November and meet up with other newcomers! See attached for details.
·         Mark your calendar for this year’s community carol service: Churton Park Carols at Amesbury, Friday 12th December at Amesbury School from 7-8.15pm.
·         Got pets? Christmas is coming along fast. Don't forget to book your pets in for feeding. Special rates for Senior Citizens and Students. Please ask. See attached or www.2ndwife.co.nz.
·         ** Churton Park Community Christmas Party ** - mark your calendars, this year’s Christmas Party will be on Saturday 29th November. More details to follow.

FROM NEWLANDS COMMUNITY CENTRE
Early years Workshop at Newlands CC: Moving Smart are running two workshops on Thursday 20 November (10 – 11.30 am and 7 – 8.30 pm), looking at practical fun ideas for enhancing infant and child development and learning through movement. FROM TAWA COMMUNITY CENTRE
Dance for Parkinson’s: We had an excellent turn out for this new class being held at the centre, so please make sure you come along to the following sessions: Tuesday 11 November/Wednesday 19 November/Tuesday 25 November/Wednesday 3 December, 12-1pm Support people and partners encouraged.
