Amesbury's First Art Exhibition and Auction

On Friday evening, Amesbury School's first Art Exhibition and Art Auction was held. It was a lovely evening with about 70 parents and all the staff in attendance. The children's artwork was framed and attractively exhibited. Easy listening music was provided by guitarist and singer, Max Christie. Refreshments were served by a bevy of Murrihy girls and friends, and the parents only concern was to wander around and wonder at the amazing artwork produced by students of Amesbury School.

Lots of artwork was sold on the night. However, there are quite a number of beautiful pieces still available for sale. These are available for viewing in the meeting room. So, if you were not able to make it to the auction evening, please pop in and put your bid on your child's piece or another piece that you think you would like. There is still artwork by Colin Gibbs available for purchase. These are displayed at reception. I love these pieces and will miss their stunning colours when I do not see them every day. The reception area feels very "rich" with all the wonderful artworks displayed. This feeling of "richness" lifts my spirits every day.

BIG kudos to teacher, Michael Young, for his organisation of the exhibition and auction. Thanks to all the staff for working so hard to assist Mike and ensure a successful evening.

Michael pointed out that though the Art Exhibition and Auction was for fundraising purposes, the main purpose was to celebrate creativity and the place of The Arts in our lives and the world.
